  • Journey: Arrival at Bandaranayake International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Habarana.
  • Sightseeing: En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest painted cave complex in the world, known for its beautiful frescoes and statues of Buddha.
  • Overnight: Stay at Habarana, the hub of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle.
  • Duration: Approximately 4.5 hours journey.
  • Journey: Drive from Habarana to Anuradhapura.
  • Sightseeing: Explore the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura, one of South Asia’s most evocative historical sites. Highlights include:
    • Sri Maha Bodhi – The sacred tree believed to be the oldest living human-planted tree.
    • Isurumuniya – A beautiful temple known for its intricate rock carvings.
    • Samadhi Sthupa – The meditation site of ancient Buddhist monks.
    • Mihintale – The mountain where Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka.
  • Overnight: Return to Habarana.

  • Journey: Drive from Habarana to Polonnaruwa.
  • Sightseeing: Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which was once a royal capital. Visit ancient temples, stupas, and statues, including the famous Gal Vihara rock temple.
    • Village Tour: Experience rural life in Hiriwadunna Village. Ride a traditional bullock cart, walk through paddy fields, and enjoy a boat ride to the village. Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at a local home.
