Itinerary
- Journey: Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo
- Sightseeing: Relax at the hotel after your long flight. Later, take a city tour of Negombo, including the fishing village
- Overnight: Stay in Negombo
- Duration: Approximately 45 minutes journey
- Journey: Drive from Negombo to Wilpattu National Park
- Sightseeing: After breakfast, head to Wilpattu. In the evening, go for a jeep safari at Wilpattu National Park, known for its Sri Lankan Sloth Bears and Sri Lankan Spotted Deer
- Overnight: Stay at the Wilpattu campsite
- Duration: Approximately 4 hours journey
- Journey: Drive from Wilpattu to Habarana
- Sightseeing: Leave your campsite around 10:30 AM for an exciting jeep safari at Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park or Eco Kurulu Park, where you can witness over 50 wild elephants by the reservoir as the sun sets
- Overnight: Stay in Habarana (The cultural hub of Sri Lanka)
- Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours journey
- Journey: Drive from Habarana to Kandy
- Sightseeing: Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the eighth wonder of the world. On the way to Kandy, stop at Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest painted cave complex. Visit the Matale Hindu Temple en route
- Overnight: Stay in Kandy
- Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours journey
- Sightseeing: After breakfast, explore Udawatta Kele Forest Reserve, one of the best spots for birdwatching. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred sites in Sri Lanka
- Overnight: Stay in Kandy
- Journey: Take a scenic train ride from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
- Sightseeing: Upon arrival, explore Gregory Lake, the pink post office, Seetha Eliya Temple, and enjoy the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England”
- Overnight: Stay in Nuwara Eliya
- Duration: Approximately 4.5 hours train journey
- Sightseeing: Early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park (8 km hike) to see World’s End and Baker’s Falls. Visit a tea plantation and a working tea factory (e.g., Pedro Tea Estate). Enjoy a high tea session at the Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya
- Overnight: Stay in Nuwara Eliya
- Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours journey each way
- Journey: Drive from Nuwara Eliya to Udawalawe National Park
- Sightseeing: En route, visit the Nine Arch Bridge near Ella. In the evening, embark on a jeep safari at Udawalawe National Park to see the wild elephants
- Overnight: Stay in Udawalawe
- Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours journey
- Journey: Drive from Udawalawe to Yala
- Sightseeing: Visit the Elephant Transit Home to see orphaned baby elephants. Afterward, go for a jeep safari at Yala National Park, where you might spot leopards, crocodiles, elephants, and rare bird species
- Overnight: Stay in Yala/Tissamaharamaya
- Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours journey
- Journey: Drive from Yala to Deniyaya
- Sightseeing: Visit Bundala National Park, a haven for migratory birds. Continue the journey to Deniyaya
- Overnight: Stay in Deniyaya
- Duration: Approximately 3.5 hours journey
- Journey: Drive from Deniyaya to Mirissa
- Sightseeing: Trek through Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and biodiversity hotspot. In the evening, enjoy the stunning Mirissa Beach
